|Prof. Yataro hatamura was born in 1940, in Tokyo, Japan. After earning his Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tokyo,in 1966, he worked in the industry designing construction machinery. Two years later, the University of Tokyo invited him back to teach there. he is now assigned Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo and teaches at Kogakuin University. His fields of interest include nano-micro machining, force sensing, intelligent manufacturing and biomedical engineering. He has learned through teaching that students are more interested in learning about people's mistake than just success stories. He developed the method of analyzing mistakes and failures and how you can achieve success by learning from the failures.
